In 1993, ICAO Future Air Navigation Systems (FANS) has developed State-of-the-Art Digital and Satellite Technology requirements to allow effective airspace utilization while maintaining secured and safe air navigation globally. The Glass Cockpit and its Flight Management System provides accurate solution. The Glass Cockpit supports the latest Global Air Traffic Management (GATM) environment. This solution would extend a 20 to 40 years old legacy aircraft’s service life to another 30 years.

The center wing box has to be replaced due to corrosion after 40,000 flying hours based on historical data of fatigue analysis. AIROD has successfully accomplished 5 Center Wing replacements.
AIROD provides total maintenance support from line maintenance to depot level maintenance for the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department and is fully certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
